Difficulty Modes
Don't let the retro aesthetic keep you away! This game comes with three available difficulty modes, each to suit your own taste for challenge: Mellow mode, Moderate mode, and Maddening mode. Any of the three can be selected from the start.
Moderate is the game at its intended pace, made for players generally familiar with action games. While it might be designed to look like an old NES game, it includes plenty of quality-of-life features to keep it from being unfair. Meanwhile, Mellow is for players who are not used to playing action games very often, or at least perfer their action games on the easier side.
However, if you're already used to this specific style of game from the olden times and don't really want it to be any different, then Maddening might just be the thing for you.
All three modes are perfectly valid ways to enjoy the game. Pick whatever one suits you best!
